1962 P Lincoln Memorial Cent / LMC Doubled Die Obverse / DDO -001 Must Be The Early Stage A

Jim0815 Pillar of the Community United States 5239 Posts	Posted 05/15/2019 5:06 pm While searching through a mixed bag I found this 1962 P LMC and it appears to be the DDO-001. The pics don't show it very well but the one has the same split as the DDO-001.The only thing that I am not seeing is the slight doubling on LIBERTY. This is either an undocumented stage or a new DDO. Thoughts? Report this Post to the Staff

But note the '1' does not have the same doubling as DDO-001? http://www.varietyvista.com/01b%20L...2PDDO001.htm This is a tough year to match up to. There are so many DDO's on the date this year. Jim0815 Pillar of the Community United States 5239 Posts	Posted 05/15/2019 5:26 pm Mr. Coop, again the pics don't pic up the split at the bottom of the 1 but it is in the exact same location as the DDO-001, you can barely see the split at the bottom of the 1 in pic 6. I have no doubt that it is a DDO. The splits in the 19 and 6 tells me that as well as the slight separation on top of the 2. If it is not a different stage of 001 it is a new DDO. tropicalbats Pillar of the Community United States 6116 Posts	Posted 05/15/2019 9:19 pm I took a quick look as I'm pre-occupied right now but from what I can see your coin isn't strong enough to be die 1. I also checked and the coin I checked does not have those markers but I may have more of them when I get a chance to look around. I took a quick photo through the slip of a die 1 and it's pretty darn monster as far as the doubling is concerned and the thickness of the numbers.
