First, sorry for the photos. I still can't get this picture thing figured out. I'm finding things I never would have before I got this USB microscope. I've found this and three other error coins in the last few days.

Sorry, but that's not an error. That just scratches from Post Strike Damage ( PSD).

I'm telling you that if my photos were better, this is NOT PSD. I promise.

How do I replace the close up photo? I think I have a clearer one now.

Plating issues, I believe, though could also be a delamination.

Either way, in another few years it would probably become a rotten mess.

Just add the second photo. Look for the edit button at the top of your post. It looks like a sheet of paper with a pencil across the corner.

Your coin has a crack on it. They add little extra value if any. That being said I might still keep it.

Does not look like a scratch to me, some sort of lamination/delamination to me.

Now with the updated picture, it looks like a Struck Through error, but I am not 100% sure though.

The vertical zipper-like damage from the rim above VDB to the crushed ear lobe may be a clue worth discussing. It looks a bit like the coin may have been caught in the crimping machine when the bulk bag was sealed. If so, the surrounding areas of interest may be related to the crimping process.

I'm not wedded to this idea, but just offer it for discussion.

It is strange. Any chance of better pics of whole coin both sides.

Doesn't look like PSD to me, I suspect a laminated zinc core.
