Hello,
I've recently bought a 50 kopeks. I'd like to know your opinion about its grade.
I'm still waiting for the coin, so I post photos from the seller.

I'm staying out of this one (no experience), but the imagery is compelling.

Some obvious die finishing marks seen in the fields of the coin, both sides, (can't figure out why so obvious). Struck through damage to legend on obverse side. Small in field in front of worker's face.

Curious pit and raised line behind worker's hand.
Probably, the dies were not properly cleaned before setting into the coining press.

Sharp strike,
grade MS65.

@sel, are you sure that isn't a die clash on the obv?

If the lines are raised, then they're die finishing marks. If not raised, then "whizzed" or other cleaning and retaining. Could be a die clash but you would need to overlay the reverse.

I have deliberately left the door open to make us think a bit more deeply with this coin.

Very nice MS-64. The lines look raised in the photos so would be die polish marks.

That's a nice one!

The head is really well struck. horizontal die polish lines are common on these and on the rouble from 1921, 1922.

The marks going agains the grain at 9 o'clock on the obverse are a little troubling. I'd need a closer look in person.

From the photos, I'd say you have a MS64 coin. It's so sharply struck, you might get 65 on a good day in the grading room, provided the 9 o'clock marks are nothing to worry about. On a second look, maybe the 65 is unlikely.

Nice purchase. Would you consider selling?

Thank you all for the answers!

Derekjacoby, as it's a brand new purchase I not currently considering to resell it.
But it doesn't mean that I will not do it in the future .

P.S. I'll upload my own pics once I have an air tite.
As of now the coin is in 2x2 which obscures the view.
