Picked up 3 Hawai'i school lunch tokens. Honokaa School Free Lunch  Wailuku Jr. High School - Good for one 5¢ lunch  Waimea Jr. High School - Cafeteria Good for 5¢

Were these tokens all contemporaries? Was "5 Cents" essentially the same value as "Free" in terms of getting lunch?

commems, I believe that these are all more or less contemporaries - probably from the 1920s. The Wailuku one is from December 1921 or before; the Waimea is from after 12/21. I do not have a date for the Honokaa token. 5¢ seems to have been the basic price for many years.
