Looks as though some of the groves are under the design and some go through or over the top of it? could this be some kind of waffle? Report this Post to the Staff

It took the deepest devices to make the highest design to make them look normal. (the rim also removed the lines) But this might be a coin to save for educational purposes to a new collector.
