I not really concerned with the condition of these two as they're both rather nice and uncirculated.
Does anyone know why the colour is so different from each other?

Unless lighting is playing tricks looks to me like chrome and no chrome. Missing chrome 1952 is a pricier coin for sure.

I appreciate your reply Talonbat but I don't think it was lighting that caused me to ask the question as it appeared the same in hand as the photo.
However your concern of the lighting made me go back and determine if that could indeed be the cause. I decided to remove them from the 2X2 for a better look and they appear quite similar the problem was the window in the 25 year old 2X2 was heavily fogged over on the lighter coin on the left.
There does seem to be a difference in the finish on the coins, the right it's almost like a specimen finish bright and shinny.
Sorry for wasting everyone's time I'll try to weed these out myself in the future.

Coin on the left is a later die state... the orange peel texture in places is what I am seeing...
