My daughter and I are working on a Small Cent set 1920 to date and a one of every KM# circulation set as well.

I personally collect pretty much eveything canadian. But that may just be because my stores have more canadian to offer than anything else.

G'day,
I've got a few silver dollars, but doubt that I'll complete the set.
I'm building a set of British Empire coinage of 1887: the Canadian silver coins of that year are surprisingly expensive.
And I pick up provincial coins & tokens whenever I can: coins can demonstrate the path from diverse colonies to Confederation quite well.
I've also got some banknotes, as part of my collection of QE2 portraits.

The years 1920-26 is a challenging group of cents. I recently completed to 1932, and soon I might do the large cents if I can find a good source. I'm also looking for the KGVI half dollars such as the '47ML--that's a low mintage and tough coin.

I have been collecting for some time, so I have complete sets of Large cents, small cents, ten cents (from 1902-2008)  You can do it, but it takes time.  And, yes KurtS, the `47 ML & the `48 are the tough ones in the fifty cents. Edited by SHAFTA9a

Unfortunately, whenever I see a coin I like - I pick it up. So sad.  I never tried to pick up a series. So I have a little of everything Canadian. |

Hey wwhitman, you collect like me. I often have many of the same item, and I don't care to complete a set. But there is a huge plus to collecting this way - and that is to spot differences in coins of the same date. If you only have one of each date, you will rarely spot differences or errors. I have found many nice varieties as a result of collecting this way.

Canadian quarters, for sure. I also just got my first Canadian $5 gold coin. Really nice! When I was a kid I had a buncha Canadian pennies. Even brought them when we moved from Ohio to California by bus. Then I squashed 'em. |

I'm working on my small cent collection. So far I found most everything from '38 and up from CRH here in MI. Still looking for an '06P, and I haven't found any '08s that migrated across the border yet.

mostly Newfoundland but now I'm getting into George VI 50 cent and $1 coins. fun stuff.
