I previously submitted this coin with Mechanical Doubling but I took a closer look at mint mark! Seems like something's under that mint mark? Is it also mechanical?

What you're seeing inside the curves of the "S" is part (chips) of the broken punch, that was used to stamp the S into the die. On the outside (right side) of the S is the MD

Edited: Nice looking cent, keeper for sure. Maybe 2x2 for future value

Thanks Greasy Fingers, got hundreds like that from that storage unit find (box3! Many low dates in that good of shape! I'm tempted to send a Few of them in......some could grade in MS condition and could be in the
$200-$300 range but it Crazy they drop to $8 one grade down! Hate to spend $30 to grade and it comes back $8, lol?

See how much they cost to have graded and then figure what they are worth. (Grading fees buyers don't pay for. I find it hard to spend 3-5X more to have a coin graded, than to get very little in return.

@GreasyFingers......it's still producing! I'm on the Last box though! I'm sure I have well over 250 in MS condition, just going to Acetone dip the dust off before I do a final Inspection to see which ones will go MS65 or better and decide if $32 each to get graded is in my budget? The rest I'll 2X 2 for my boys 35mm boxes!

@coop....I hear you sir! Gotta be worth the grading to send in!
