My ASE submitted to PCGS shipped yesterday, with actual activity so it's more than just a label printing. Looks like I'll get it back before the holidays. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a signed COA, is there a prize for COA# 00101...

Three digit COA numbers WERE getting a premium but I haven't checked them recently
L & C coins considered them worth a $400 bump over the higher numbers but, again, that was a week+ ago
Edit: Another thing to consider when comparing completed sale prices is the seller feedback. If I was buying a $1000-2000 coin I would feel MUCH safer buying it from a seller that sells coins...and has a decent number of sales.
I would be VERY wary of buying from a seller that has only sold sneakers or toys and has a feedback of 1..0r 10...
Pinehurst is still getting $1449 for their raw ERP's

Exactly. ebay true auction prices are not a good indicator of anything, there are far to many variables that have nothing to do with the product

Anybody have any experience with how long their coin has sat in the "Grading/Quality Control" stage for NGC? My coin was entered in on 12/11, so I'm just trying to get a rough idea.

No idea why they haven't unless they got lost in the mail on the way back or something, but if they were going to sell them I would imagine they already would have. Depends what their you selected. They're going to be closed most of if not all of next week though so if it doesn't ship today I wouldn't expect it to until at least the 3rd

Mind lasted three days in that stage and that was with express service.

My submission was Delivered and signed for on 11/25 @10am. NGC recorded it "received" on 12/6 Yesterday I requested that my coins be expedited. I received a call from a CS rep, Chris, who assured me that my coins would be ready to ship the evening of 12/19 or 12/20 the latest. As of right now all, six items, included in my submission are still listed as in "grading/ quality control" NGC can provide same day service at a Coin Show but it appears that when you send your submission to their main processing center, it can take in excess of a month! Makes no sense to me, and I have heard all the excuses about Thanksgiving holiday, how busy they are, etc. but a MONTH is Not reasonable, and now I'm looking at the Christmas New Years Holiday as additional justifications for additional delays! Yes, I'm a bit upset with NGC.

And look at what the fee is for same day grading at coin shows. There is 1-2 day grading at the offices as well if someone wants to pay for it. The holidays aren't an excuse it's humans with family not wanting to chug away on Christmas and New Years which you wouldn't want to be expected to in a civilian job either. The majority of submissions take over a month unless you use an expedited tier hence the charts showing estimates in business days. I check my grades constantly hoping to get lucky always, but there were discussions about expected turn around times giving the extra load and time of year. Anyone that gets it back in under a month that didn't use express or higher got lucky

The Current NGC web page indicates: "US: 12 days" for Modern processing 12 working days from Delivery date is 12/13...a week ago which makes NGC a week late and the coins are still in Grading /Quality Control. Like I said I have heard all the excuses and there still is No Justification for taking this long. Especially since all the Large dealers seem to be having No issue getting their submissions processed and returned. It appears that NGC is neglecting the individual Collector.

I guess the lesson learned is that if you wanted the coin in your hands you shouldn't have gotten if graded. Personally I don't understand grading a modern coin. But I'm not a flipper so what I think doesn't really matter.

I definitely feel your frustration dave. Just as I'm sure some got really lucky by getting their coin back in under a month without choosing express there are those on the other end of the spectrum, such as yourself, whose order is taking much longer than normal. I would definitely call NGC and try to get some compensation. Maybe partial refund or credit of some sort.
