From time to time I will mark a ( JUNK coin ) with a sharpie pen to see if it find's it's way back to my Desk. I marked this coin last Dec.2018 Its now sept 2019 and its BACK Making it the eighth return coin. So proof is in the rolls that you might also be searching the same coins over and over and over again . I do get rolls and boxes from different places but from time to time my bank. The ones that have returned are from MY BANK. So the moral of the story Is shop around for your rolls or have a life time of the same coins..

I've wondered about that. I personally have a 5 gallon bucket of cents so that I know I'm not going through the same ones and a smaller bucket of quarters.

I have no doubt I look at the same coins often but I have been restricted to three banks due to my work schedule. That has changed. I now work on Saturday and have Monday off. Two towns to the south of here have Hancock/Whitny banks. These banks have never asked if I have an account and I got mixed boxes the four times I've gone there. My home bank allows me to deposit cents in $50 bags. I think I will get my cents from W/H and return at my home bank in bulk. Off to Loomis processing center hopefully to never return.

This is surprising? There aren't that many armored car services and there is a good chance that many of the banks in your area use the same one. That means that the coins from your dump bank are picked up by the same service that rerolls them and sends them to your source bank. Now you aren't going to be getting ALL the same coins over again, but some portion of what you search you have probably searched before. Possibly several times.

Conder101: NO I am NOT Surprised at all. I stated >>> I do get rolls and boxes from different places and I shop around for my rolls. I do some traveling out of state so I Also get rolls and boxes from other states. Most banks will do a turnaround on there coins, they bag them send them in to be rolled then they are RETURNED TO THAT BANK. SO yes people are re-searching the SAME COINS and that's a waist of time. A lot of banks and Credit unions will sell you boxes and rolls, but they do not buy then back unless you are a member. Some people I have talked to say they get there coins from there bank.I was just saying SHOP AROUND don't keep getting your coins from the same bank. Most of all I was hoping the newbies would see this and catch on.
