I wouldn't send in the Magician's coin. If I'm thinking correctly, they would reject it as "Not Genuine" and it wouldn't be slabbed, but it will still cost the same.

Just because its impossibly unlikely your nickel is silver doesn't mean there isn't a one in a million chance it is. Proper tests would need to be preformed to determine composition. Stranger things have happened at the mints...if it can happen it seems to.

I see no reason to believe that the buffalo is anything other than a common date Buffalo nickel with the date worn away. Worn silver and worn nickels can look similar but they are what they are.
