1964 D Jefferson Nickel, Clipped Planchette Or PMD?

I have never seen one before, so I would like opinions on whether this is a clipped planchette or PMD. Thanks! Report this Post to the Staff

Yokozuna Pillar of the Community United States 4618 Posts	Posted 09/29/2019 11:32 pm It looks like an incomplete or clipped planchet to me. You can see a small area on the rim opposite the error that's distorted. That would be the Blakesley Effect. This was caused when the coin moved slightly during the strike. It's just a small spot on your coin, but it's there. It's not always on a clipped coin, but when it is, it's almost always proof that it's a mint error. You can also see slight weakness in the letters just at the edge of the clip. Edit: Added information. ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T!
