While I don't really look for errors or varieties (way too much information for my feeble mind to process), This one kind of jumped out at me while checking my change.
I know the coin is in pretty rough condition, but I'd just like to know what this could be. I'm referring to the raised metal at the date.

@DM, that is almost certainly a flattened bulge from an impact to the reverse side or edge of this quarter. Can you please post a pic of the other side? Thx.

Thanks guys. Like I said I'm not especially looking for errors but being out here on the west coast I do look for Philly mint marks because they're few and far between. This one seemed unusual and I thought I'd see what it was. So now it will go into my "P" jar where all migrating Philly coins that I come across wind up.
