Are you sure it's 1975, only they were nickel brass that year and not aluminium. They were brass coloured?

We had a new coin somewhere in the middle of all that. Or should I say a rather old coin!

Well! That took some research.

At first I thought it looked South American but that didn't turn anything up.

Then I thought well maybe Spain....nope!

Then I thought it could be French, and I found one very similar, but not the right mint mark or year.

Then I started thinking of other places under French influence at the time and tried Italy, still no luck.

A search on wikipedia showed me that some German states were satellites of the French Empire.

Aha!

Hungary 50 filler aluminum?
1960s to 1989 if communist, 1990+ if post-communist (without "NEP-" in the legends).
