Info:
* the color - the photo is only a bit darkened.
* the edge is plain.
* there are only two letters and one symbol on the other side.

It's a 1917.
The two letters on the other side are the mintmark (F-F).

Thank you Indeed, I'd say it's a rather bad example of a great coin.
It's damaged, quite worn and scratched on the obverse, and - what's visible - heavily cleaned.. It's a 1835. I still remember the price it was sold for. I assume it was about $15 (though I remember the price, I do not know exactly how much was the dollar worth back then).
