Well. If someone doesn't get it with this clue, I'm just going to have to shoot myself.

La Republica Dominicana? Not unless they moved it south about a thousand miles, past the equator!
(Shoots self.) (Ow, that hurt.) (The things I have to go through to have fun with a hobby ...)
Tell you what. Here's a description of coins from a 2007 issue from this entity (and I happen to have a set of these beautiful coins): "A Hammerhead shark is on the bi-metallic 200 Pesos. A Vaka, a double hulled, masted canoe, is on the eleven-sided copper 100 Pesos. A Moray Eel is on the copper 50 Pesos. Tangata Manu, the Birdman, is on the eleven-sided brass 10 Pesos. A Forceps Fish is on the brass 5 Pesos. A Bonito Fish is on the nickel-plated brass 1 Peso."
If Google is your friend, too, you should at least be able to track down the origin of our current coin, if not the denomination and composition.

Google says: "The Tangata manu (bird-man), was the winner of a traditional competition on Rapa Nui (Easter Island)." Hm they do have pesos indeed

Good, very good DL20K. Easter Island is indeed the origin of this coin. Now - at least the denomination, and if you track it down, you should have the composition of the coin.

All I'm getting is the 2007 series, and they don't look like yours

Okay, try the "finished auction" section of ebay and see what turns up. That's where I stumbled onto this coin. They didn't make very many of them, either.
