-it's how I got started 4 decades ago (finding circulated Canadian * asterisk replacements -thinking they were cool because they had an unusual serial number but not knowing why). This was 20 years before our catalogue was published & I knew no one who collected (but finally met a few coin/note dealers who visited our local malls & started to get hooked). Later, I sold most of them for a modest profit when ebay just started and literally upgraded for a lot less than had I just started with nothing.
