Hello all, I was going though some old CRH Finds. I had been reading about how occassionlly during the early production of Proofs. Substandard coin were sometimes just thrown into Circulation bins. Iam not sure how true this is or was. This one got me as a Circulated Proof by the Rim and Edge sharpness until I flipped it over. Even the Strike made me think so. But, what are the chances of that. Also, what are your thoughts on the Date being a 1917/17? Thank you for the help,
Edward M.

They didn't have matte proofs that year. Also the strike is normal not a matte proof. The reverse does have a bit of a woody look. Slight grease on the EPU. But otherwise normal.
