Hey guys, I had found this 1993-D Penny and I'm thinking it's a WAM. I attached 2 different 1993-D so that you can see if it's a WAM. the first 4 photos are " WAM" and the last 4 are CAM. hope you can help.

I also have dozens of both . It seems my FURTHEST A from the M's have "of" faded "Just like Yours"and the best one I have the "of" and the "S" at the end of States is Completely missing . Strange Coinsodence . The best example in the container of my CAM's the A overlaps the M,, the E and R are close together away from the M . The IC and A Are all attached . It doesn't matter if Anyone says they were at the mint at the time of the 1993 WAM or CAM .. There will be different versions and No 2 will be the same .
It's likely that the 1 you have Is a WAM but just a poor version of the WAM . Not everything is black or white .

This is a close 'AM' All cents were Close AM that year (even the proof). Just a normal coin. The area you are looking at for a wide or close 'AM' is incorrect. It is the location of the AME you need to look at. The Close AM E is off to the left. On the Wide AM the 'M' is centered A M E. Note these images:

It is the location of the 'M' that counts. Centered ( Wide AM). Off center to the left ( Close AM).The space between the 'AM' doesn't count. Die wear/die polishing can altered that area. So look to see if it the 'M' is centered or off to the left.

Note again on your coin. Where is the 'M'? Centered or off to the left. Die polishing removes the base of the devices. When removed, the devices are smaller looking. Thus, like your coin, makes it look like a space on that area. The device didn't move, but was reduced in size from the polishing. Hope this helps?
