Been hunting one of these for years. But when one came up on ebay a week or so ago with a starting bid of $125, that caught my attention. It had an opening bid, so I bid a little higher and well, got it for $127.50. It's obviously not one of the high grade coins, but that's fine with me as I've got one in the collection now and maybe find an upgrade someday. Anyway, it's not much to look at but I believe this is the widest doubled die in the series, with the tail of the 9 visible way below the 3 and part of the 3 visible below the 4. Just little bits, but they are far, far out there. 1934 Lincoln Wheat cent doubled die DDO-004, FS-101

Super nice pickup. I have searched for this one far and wide but it's a real rare one for sure. Congrats on picking it up!

Thanks folks! It's a rare bird and really happy to have made the pick up at a reasonable price. I still hope to find one someday, as that would be a thrill, but for now that does complete my VV 1934 DDO series and add one of the few left that I've really been wanting in my collection.

Excellent strategy on the bidding and congrats on adding that one.
Always on the lookout for that one.

Wonderful pickup, tb. My pops found one roll hunting 20 years ago or more, and it's the only one I've seen outside of the few that come up on the auction site from time to time. You got it for a steal, too!
