First time poster and novice collector- I believe I see coins or maybe just rims moving- albeit barely perceptibly but yes ever so slightly contracting and expanding- producing an ungulating visible effect as well as countless optical illusions including partially disapearing 4th numbers on dates of pennies, a Lincoln memorial that moves left and right and adds and subtracts a row of steps as well as columns, various letters and features of coins becoming partially altered or moved, etc.. Deliberately altered coins that facilitate these optical illusions litter my coin jug but I see this movement in every denomination of u.s. coin and canadian as well as well any circular metal coin or token I have inspected.. ?

Welcome to the forum. But I'm not sure if you asked a question. Die Deterioration caused by overused dies can often cause ghostlike images. But without images it is all speculation.

@ungulate, first welcome to CCF. Second, there is a bit to unpack with that post. Can you capture an example of this phenomenon with a camera and add a picture or two to this thread?

I assume you are saying you experience seeing these anomalies as you are looking at coins. Not to be making light of this, but I would suggest asking your doctor about neurological conditions. This is not really normal.
I say that in all seriousness. About a year ago everything I looked at went double. I called my doctor and went to ER. I had a minor stroke of the kind that recovers fully.

During the strike on some o the plated cents, the area between the tops of the devices and outside edges of the Memorial cents suffered a splitting on the plating on those areas. Maybe that is what your area seeing? This occurs during the strike. (no premium for these though)

Are you seeing this in "real time" as Panther is saying or are they fixed as in the (great) photos that Coop posted?
* I just noticed that this was posted yesterday afternoon. I hope the OP is okay.

I hear you Coop; I kinda wandered away myself for about 14 hours. [Wife that wants me to actually talk to her, kids that never call, looking for a decent LM 71-S, etc., and all those distractions]
