Ariette Valued Member United States 295 Posts	Posted 12/12/2019 10:58 pm I just got this dirty-looking silver coin and I was wondering what would be the best method to clean it up a bit. I know that cleaning coins is generally discouraged, but I picked this one up for my world silver collection at near melt value, and I don't believe it has much of a numismatic premium. It looks like it was buried in the ground for years, and it makes my hands dirty when I touch it. Any ideas for how to get the muck off this coin? Report this Post to the Staff

sel_69l Bedrock of the Community Australia 21788 Posts	Posted 12/13/2019 05:47 am Looks like this one has had some time in direct soil burial, then found and has been given a gentle as possible clean up, already. My guess for the clean up method was a gentle rubbing with a clean cotton rag in water. Report this Post to the Staff
