I found a William of Orange sliver shilling when digging foundations in my garden. Could somebody please give me an indication of its value? I have attached some photos. Thanks very much. James
Hi all, I think it's 1698. Unfortunately there's a mark on the 8 probably from the shovel when I dug it up. It would appear to be an 8 but I'm not 100% sure.
NGC world coin catalogue lists 2 types for that year. In VG they are listed at $125 and $75. Yours is worse than VG. At least that gives you an idea. A nice find from your garden, in any case.
Thanks for the reply. It's an interesting find from an English garden and a cottage that was built in the 1800's. Going to keep it and probably mount it for the family to see. James
