Luckily I didn't get too sick, it only lasted for two days; I have a lot of rolled cents that I need to still search, as I have been picking up the cents for the last month (1-2 boxes per week), but I have not really opened them yet. Last week, I was able to get only one box, but the weeks before that I was able to pick up two boxes per week. I am going to the bank today probably, so hopefully I will be able to pick up more cents today. I also have been getting rolls of quarters from my friend at the gas station, hoping to find more W's; so far, no luck, though I have found W's in the past. As I look through the cents, I will be posting what I find.

Also I have opened the boxes, to check if the ends were brand new or not; so far, all of them are circulated. I am guessing I have around $120 or more in rolls to go through.

I just opened two dime rolls, and found a 1962-D silver dime; the one dime roll was all brand new dimes, while the other dime roll was circulated dimes. The shiny dimes came from the gas station, while the silver dime came from the bank rolls.

I opened one of the Loomis boxes, and went through some of the rolls. The best find so far is a 1934 Wheat cent. I also did find a 1963 young Queen Elizabeth Canadian penny.

I am going up North on vacation soon; I hope to get some cents from up North, to look through, and compare with what I get from down here. Also I am hoping for half dollars also.

I read in a coin magazine that cents will stop being made by 2023; it is very sad news for me. This coin magazine (coinage) is a credible source I think. I get it in the mail every month.

Are you sure it was not one the annual April Fools jokes that goes around?

They need to stop minting them for circulation, but still put them in sets (preferably in bronze like they did in 2009).

I hope that they could be minted for circulation still, but I understand your opinion also. This article was in my coin magazine for the August edition, so I do not think this is a joke. I also did some research, and found some more sources also.

The online site is still showing July content (makes sense, paying customers get it first). We will have to wait to see a link from them.

Everything I have found in search shows the typical boilerplate joke post.

Here is a sample...

https://cashmoneylife.com/us-mint-c...-production/

Some of them do not even acknowledge it is a joke. Just a bad "journalists" not checking their sources.

I asked my bank if they heard anything about the cent going out, and they said no, they had not heard anything. So that gives me hope that maybe the article is false.
