Hello all,
Found this yesterday. Please help to clarify if you would? I am curious about value or if it's a keeper. Thanks in advance.
Sincerely,
Christie

A dime can't t be struck on Quarter planchet. It wouldn't
fit in a dime collar. What makes you think it was?
Value 10 cents

Why post this twice, the answer won't change.

Sorry for the repeat. I didn't get a response yesterday so I thought maybe I placed this question in the wrong place. The nose of Roosevelt is not right. Thought maybe it was Washington's nose. It does sort of look like Washington's.And there appears to be a issue with the reverse. Maybe an other picture. If I am wrong then what could have happened to this dime?

Just saw the response. I apologize again. I am curious what you think happened to this coin? There is clearly an issue with the obverse...a mass in front of the face. No disagreement with your post. Just curious about your thoughts on what could be the cause?
Thanks

Personally, I think this 18 year-old dime has what looks to be environmental damage, perhaps from being buried in the ground or some chemical reaction (total guess)? This damage has obscured it's natural state. I think the cloudy, haziness found on both the obverse and reverse is (in my opinion) causing you to see things that simply aren't there. It's comparable to seeing a dragon or firetruck in the clouds. If there are features of another coin, it is an illusion, not actual contact or some sort of mint mix-up, again, totally in my opinion.

One of our great "family" members here on the CCF by the name of "coop" wrote something I have found useful... coop said, "Keep only what you would buy." If I found your dime, I'd spend it.

I hope and welcome you to stick around and learn more about coins.

Normal dime that has been damaged by heat. The heat caused the outer clad layer to bubble.

@pepper, in the future if you think that you posted in the wrong place, you can ask the post to be moved to another spot in the forum.
