Love that Azores 5 reis! Here is my best 1880 coin - a gorgeous Dutch "Twee en halve cent" coin. This was in one of my bargain collections and would grade the higher EFs at least. Lustre on a low value coin of this era is a real treat.  Ruler was Willem III (1848 - 1890) and for some reason the name of the ruler was not shown on the copper coins of this era. One person listed an early 1880s coin as Wilhelmina - she only became Queen in 1890, with her mother Emma, as regent between 1890 and 1898. Edited by Princetane

Another 1880 piece of mine is this 3 Kopeck coin (Altin, Altyk) of the Russian Empire  The interesting thing about Russian copper between 1860 and 1917 was it all had this generic eagle obverse with no indication of who Tsar was (This coin is Alexander II, but the Nicholas II Kopeck I showed in 1911 is the same reverse). According to Numista the reverse does not say the Tsar but just "Russian Copper money/coin" and the value in Kopecks, this case Tri or Three Kopecks. The 1, 2 and 5 also had this design with a raised outer rim with year and inner part for the number and back was the Romanov eagle. The dengas and polushkas were plainer and smaller. This is a better piece of mine, moderate wear and little damage and quite a large coin, nearly the size of a British penny (The 5 Kopecks was larger) Edited by Princetane
