Hmm seems as though @zohar hasn't visited CCF at all in 2021 and @gall's last stop here was in April. Hope they are both doing ok.

I really think we should rush edition 7
Getting from 1485 to 1461 will take less than a month. I could see a rush if there was a long way to go yet, but unlike 1487, finding someone with 1486 is mostly a matter of notifying the people who have it, and that's assuming @Grinya doesn't manage to find a Crimean example somewhere.

I currently estimate that we're more likely than not to catch up before the end of this year.

I stand firm. No 7th until the 6th catches the 5th.

According to the Numista there is no Crimean coins dated 891:)

Zeno also don't show too many possibilities...

I have some Shirvanshakhs coins, but they are from later years. My Timurids which may be from 891 are undated....

I am aware of at least two undated Italian coins attributable to 1486 and which have come up at auction in recent years.

1. Florence, grosso, MIR 64/6.
https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=6611777

2. Venice, marcello of Agostino Barbarigo

Neither went for an outrageous price, but they don;t come up that often (yeah, I missed 'em)

It so happens that Agostino Barbarigo's predecessor, Marco Barbarigo, reigned from September 1485 to August 1486. If I understand the rules of this thread correctly, this would qualify any of his coins that is not otherwise dated for the year 1486.

His coins do seem to come up every so often, though the examples I found sold for more than 100 euros. I'm not sure if anyone here has any.

Still working on it @jbuck, but I am happy to report that there is a 1491-dated coin headed across the pond to me. That year has been a stopper for me for more than a decade.

Excellent!

It will also help the (hopefully upcoming sooner rather than later) 7th edition flow well.
