There were 4 successive kings of the Bahmanis Sultanate in 1397 CE. My previous tankas were from the 4th ruler, Taj ud din Firuz. This coin is from the the 1st of the 4, Muhammad Shah II. The 2nd and 3rd rulers were two sons of Muhammad Shah II. Their reigns were very short and inglorious to paraphrase the story. This coin concludes my run of concurrent dates, though I am constantly watching for affordable hole fillers. 1397 (AH 799) tanka - Bahmani Sultans

Very nice! As a reminder with the weekend coming up, I will not be around to change the title. Please feel free to post 1396 CE - AH 798 tomorrow and 1395 CE - AH 797 on Sunday!

So if I'm interpreting this correctly, the coin is the 1405, Semester I - Bartolomeo di Giovanni, Carducci ? ttkoo, sorry for not responding earlier. Yes, that's correct. And that's really an amazing run you have going!

Just in case we stuck are here for a little while (I know that it will be about ten years progression before I can help again), I thought it would be fun to summarize the extent and duration of our HFCWGB threads. Assuming I didn't make any math errors:
1. 61 months to reach 1492 AD 2. 39 months to reach 1492 AD 3. 42 months to reach 1487 AD 4. 36 months to reach 1461 AD 5. 51 months to reach 1461 AD 6. 52 months to reach 1397 AD (so far) 7. 20 months to reach 1455 AD (so far)

Interesting recap! I think I am out until 1393 and 1391 where I have two of those "emisssion of ..." types from Holland. I recalled from one or j1m's earlier summaries that this is a difficult decade.

Yes interesting indeed. I am out until 1383, unless something interesting pops up. I could get a straight run of tankas from 1396 to 1390...BUT at around USD 420 (AUD 643) I can't justify that to the domestic goddess.... at this point in time anyway.

Darn. I was hoping to come in the morning to set the title to 1394 CE - AH 796. I guess we are still waiting for 1396 CE - AH 798 .

Just as a gap filler, I'll post a couple of my pics of the tankas I have received from my seller so far. I am waiting to fill up my printing template before I print off and label most of these 2x2's.

She who must be obeyed has barely raised an eyebrow at my latest acquisitions. I am going to post my new coins before I receive them, having gained enough trust in the vendor and India Post. I'll use the vendor's photos until the coins arrive down under, and then I'll post updated pics. So here is my coin for today - a 1396 Bahmanis silver tanka AH 798 - Hadrat Ahsanabad mint.

Does your new coin show up in the post before a 1395/797 candidate makes itself known to us.

Quote: Does your new coin show up in the post before a 1395/797 candidate makes itself known to us. I shouldn't think so. I have 5 tankas coming and I'll be posting a 1395 example tomorrow if I get a chance. With some luck we might be into the 1380's in a week or so time unless something unforeseen happens.
