These were minted from 1866 to 1883 so that third digit must be a 6, 7, or 8. My money is on 8. Last digit a 2 or 3?  "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."

1883 here too. Nothing to lose with a little vinegar and peroxide.

thank you for the replies I was thinking 1882 or 1883 myself. I bought a bag of 5 for $5 was able to read the date on all the others. as for the vinegar and peroxide, drops , soak brush ?

4 parts vinegar, 1 part peroxide. Let it soak, and check after an hour or so.

In the last picture posted the last digit looks like a two.
