1960-D Jefferson Grade

There are hits on the almost full steps which would put it out of the full step criteria anyway. However, it is an unusually well struck reverse with much better steps than you'll normally find on a 1960 D Jefferson.
I can't tell the grade but if it's MS something, I'd say it's still unusual and scarce enough being a 60D with step detail to be a keeper, at least I would.

Very nice, considering there are no known 60D full steps. Your Nickel has more step detail than any of my 60Ds but I can tell you from what others stated, there are too many hits across the steps. And you have what is known as bridging where the step lines merge together versus to get full steps designation, there must be no bridging of the step lines.

As for grade, Nickels are tricky. Based on what I've personally sent in for grading, your's is MS64, possibly 65 on a lucky day. I think the strong strike which gave you step detail will be enough to keep this above MS63.

I can't get a good grading feel from your photos . Reverse has way too much glare . There is a scratch on bottom of obverse and possibly some friction on bottom of his hair .
The entire bust looks a little rough . From the close up of the steps I can see the entire Monticello building and probably all reverse fields are very rough in texture .

Don't feel bad ; I'm a purist at heart .
