Recently, I learned about the zinc coins and plating problems etc. I apologize, this coin is unattractive!
My question is....
The date and mint mark distortions-is this all basically the result of zinc plating problems? I see the plating has slidden off in areas; so forth....I see maybe plating rot causing hollowness beneath mint mark, resulting in this distortion? The last image is of the reverse side-only cuz I'm wondering if something is poking through...? I know.nOOb!

Looks like corrosion/zinc rot to me. There might be some Machine Doubling somewhere in there, but you'd have to look harder than necessary because this damage alone is enough to make this a spender. Keep on asking questions, though, we're here to help.
