Hello folks,

I found this coin while CRH and it looks fairly odd. The mint mark doesn't look like the RPM seen on PCGS, but it looks very weird. Is it just Machine Doubling or Die Deterioration Doubling? Thanks in advance!

Kind of thinking it's similar to this variety: http://www.varietyvista.com/05%20JN...4DRPM001.htm

Your coin is in a Very Late Die State. The doubling on the MM is due to a broken post/damaged Die, it is not an RPM.

This is Machine Doubling, as there are no split serifs and the size of the mintmark has not increased. Nickel RPMs are one of the hardest to spot because of how close they are to the rim. Damage and Die Deterioration hits the mintmark very quick. I've only found one, and it's really hard to see.

Keep looking!
