I had dinner....and fell asleep! Sorry.......
Anyway, about this grossgeld 10m notgeld piece from Crefeld: The man is a silk weaver! In his hands he carries a sack with his yarn and over his shoulder, he carries a 'Kettbaum' (the heavy removable roller on a loom)

Yes - Crefeld was a town famous for velvet and silk production. There is an article with more info about the piece on my notgeld.com website.

.....and here is another note from crefeld depicting a silk weaver......: You can see the cap/hat is the same and he is also smoking a long clay pipe, like the other worker. His 'kettbaum' is held over his shoulder again. Fascinating points of interest can always be found on these highly collectable notgeld!! Start collecting them in earnest and with a passion and you won't regret it! They have enriched my life so much........TG-M

Here is a nice looking notgeld piece from Neuruppin: It is from a set of 4 pieces (all this blue colour). I'm showing it here as there is another interesting note that it really sits well with in a collector's album.......I'll post that one tomorrow!

Going back one, I have just stumbled upon this note - its the silk weaver again! Issued in 'Oktober' 1923, the note is valid until '1 April 1924'. Look at the lovely raised stampmark (Pragestempel). The note is signed by the ' Oberbuergermeister' (The senior mayor of a big city like Crefeld) or as we would say the Lord Mayor)
