Here are 5 notes from Fulda, all with a face-value of 5m: Obviously, this is a set made with the collector (of the time....1918) in mind! They are valid until February 1919.

@notgeldman, I have this little notgeld from 'Susel' 1920, is there a piece or section missing, or is it meant to be this way? It looks perforated on the bottom border.

@Scotsgreyhound - yes, you have half of the whole piece here. There are 6 different colours to collect. I have them if you want them? Not sure what the rules for selling are here though?.....can you tell me? Someone mentioned my notgeld website somewhere previously in another post but I don't think I can show it here? Anyway, here are the 'whole' pieces. Very nice in their 'fairies' design.

.....The 1m complete note, could be split in half so yu had a 75pf piece and/or a 25pf piece. It might have worked, but these pieces were never intended for circulation of course.

I will keep posting pictures..... and a bit of info (hopefully) for notgeld that I hope others find interesting. Of course, I am always trying to attract more and more collectors to the wonderful world of notgeld collecting! Here is a lovely unbroken strip of 4 Austrian notes from Walding, featuring 'Krampus': The Austrian folklore of Krampus was that basically he was the opposite to a good Santa - he punished children that had not been good!! The reverse of the strip shows the 4 pieces all have matching serial number. This was a scarce and limited set of only 400!!

Here are 4 pieces from the 'alphabetically first' issue of notgeld - Aachen! There were several different series issued from (1 - 35).... 'I' to 'XXXV'. Issued in 1918, these pieces are verkehrsausgaben notgeld issues, intended for circulation to assist with the problem of there being a shortage of loose change. It is easiest to place your notgeld in alphabetical order, by town or place of issue, as you build up your notgeld collection. Some of the 'big' German collectors will collect just by region of Germany.

Could we create a sub category under the Paper Money category, just for 'notgeld' please? I know that some banknotes collectors don't see notgeld as 'proper' banknotes.........but I truly believe they have been ill-informed.

Here is a lovely serienscheine set from Auerbach: These silhouette pieces tell the story of a randy district bailiff, who was looking for a 'dish quite rare'! Dumplings

Here is a set of serienscheine notgeld from 'Altenwerder und Finkenwaerder': The notes depict the 'seperation' of the city of Hamburg and its port, with the verses suggesting that they need to be working together, rather than Altenwerder und Finkenwaerder suffering at the feet of the city it serves.
