2 further pieces from Ahrweiler, but these are 'verkehrsausgaben' issues. They date earlier than the serienscheine pieces which are generally from 1921 (but not always). These date from 1918 The printers or printing house , 'M. DUMONT SCHAUBERG' was in 'Koln' (Cologne).

Ever seen something like this? It is a note that was perforated so that one could split it in half if needs be. So it was literally either 50pf or 2 x 25pf pieces!!......which both portions have the same serial number - quite interesting and a bit of a quirk for the notgeld collector. A nice addition for any banknote or notgeld collection!

Very interesting! If separated, I suppose you could append something, like -5 and -0 (or -L and -R) to the serial number to differentiate them for tracking purposes.

@jbuck - there would be no reason to have to do anything in reality. As the face value of '5 0' is across the split, that would identify it. I don't think anyone would complain either. You just have to be a little savvy with 'bad' sellers who might advertise 1 'half' as a complete note......when really I wouldn't even bother with an incomplete piece of notgeld.

Here is another 'different' piece. Instead of it being for 100pf or 1m, it has 3 nominal face values on it......97pf + 1pf + 2pf!: A note issued with the collector of the time (1921) in mind!

...and its matching piece... The note is not perforated. The 'sieben und neunzig' (7 and 90) face value for the larger part, is a very unusual amount. Strangely though, the 1 + 2 pf pieces do exist as issues themselves. I will dig those scans out later......

By the way......the 2 pictures are very similar but different!! You have to be very careful with this sort of thing when collecting notgeld.

I've found a scan of 2 different 'pairs' of the 1+2pf pieces. 2 pieces are dated '30 Juni 1920' and 2 are dated '30 Sept.1921'. The 1920 pieces are 'verkehrsausgaben' pieces. The 1921 pieces have got me puzzled for a bit...........as they are not catalogued, that I can find. The 2 pieces that are on the 97+1+2pf notes are undated (both sides as far as I am aware) - I don't have the pieces here anymore to check). From their date, I would have said they are serienscheine pieces but they aren't in Lindman special catalogue......which means that aren't!...watch this space........
