If the face values are in 'heller' or 'krone'(crown), they are Austrian. If they are in pfennig or mark, they are German. Usually the'common' Austrian pieces you most often see are made from a thin paper, unlike the German notgeld which are usually a bit more quality to the paper and more colourful. The Brueck in Pinzgau pieces - the 40h and 80h are 'aS' (anti-Semitic). Look how Krampus has the Jew behind him. Krampus was almost the opposite of Santa Claus. Krampus punished bad children - or supposedly bad people. Historical notes as these date from 1920/21.

Yes that's right. Notgeld were issued in several European countries.....France, Belgium included. The German notgeld are the best. The German sausage jokes are the 'wurst'!
