However silver oxidizes over time and tarnishes...old silver coins are therefore almost always toned which those aren't. That's often a tell-tale sign. Another is fine little scratches that tend to sort of align with each other - these occur when a coin is scrubbed but can usually only be seen under magnification. Report this Post to the Staff

sel_69l Bedrock of the Community Australia 21788 Posts	Posted 01/25/2020 07:38 am Luster looks to be reasonably undisturbed. Perhaps it was cleaned with acetone, but acetone is unable to remove patina, so I guess that there wasn't much patina to begin with. I have no idea how to grade these, but my guess is that they may be around AU condition, and thus one of the reasons for not having a patina. Report this Post to the Staff
