please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe ebay charges a final fee of 10% on sales. for higher end items, lets say over $500 is that true? do they charge a different rate for those or is there a cheaper way to sell these type of items on their site?

yes, ebay charges, 10%, and paypal charges, 3% approximately. If you have an ebay store you get, a little discount on fees, but you also have to pay for a store. And the rates are the same, whether you sell a 10$ item, or a 500$ item.

Sometimes, they have promos were you get a discount off of fees, But you never know when they will happen.

I believe ebay has a $750 max fee for most, but not all, categories. So a $10,000 sale of a coin would only have a $750 fee instead of $1,000.
