2013 Nickel, Possibly Copper Composition.

Not sure what it would weigh if made of pure copper, but 5.000 grams is the normal weight of a nickel (+/- .194g mint tolerance). I think that's pretty good confirmation that this is environmental damage, not an off-metal strike. Report this Post to the Staff

The density of the copper nickel alloy is 8.92 and pure copper is 8.96. So a pure copper five cent piece is VERY slightly heavier but WELL within the tolerance range. So weight tells you nothing.
