My bank buddy gave me this one and 1879 CC (in pretty worn shape), 5 - 1921's and (1) 1880, (1) 1880 S and (1) 1880 O. The 1880 S and the 1878 CC (Above) appear to be in the best shape.

Is the color in the photo the actual color of the coin? If not, can you take a photo that shows what the actual coin looks like in hand?

based on your photos the coin may have been over dipped. low AU
if its over dipped then I wouldn't send it in otherwise i'd only send it in if you are planning on selling it. better lighting and maybe a white background may help.

Sorry, but I'm pretty sure your coin is a counterfeit. The shape of the CC mintmark is wrong.

I had the same thought about the coin being counterfeit, but I wanted better photos. The coin appears to be AU, but does not show normal circulation marks. I also looked at the mint mark, but the image was not clear enough for me to to say the coin was counterfeit.

As a follow up to the Counterfeit suggestion, Sounds like silver, Neo-Magnet slides slowly. But here are the physical stats: 26.66g, 37.89mm OD 2.66mm Thick

Looks genuine, I'd say AU-50, possibly overdipped. Appears to be a VAM-9.

I am in agreement the coin looks genuine and worthy to send in for grading. Below are some photos to compare to a VAM 9 OP VAM 9 VAM 9 OP

Looks over Dipped to me. Still a nice coin. If you chose to send it in, my guess is it will come back cleaned

Genuine and probably cleaned at one time. Looks to be XF45 to AU50'ish.
Wished I had a bank buddy like that!

Probably genuine - Grade close to UNC, sharp feathers on the eagles breast, great hair definition with light friction.
AU 55 or better - maybe slider UNC
Slight chance the CC is fake and has been soldered on from another coin?
