Harry - Haven't been here in awhile, so I thought I'd check in.....let y'all know my box at the bank now holds around 18 ounces (Troy) of nuggets and dust. Actually figures out to 559 grams which breaks down to 17.974276 ounces.....pretty close to 18.

Good to hear from you mate and you know your most welcome to tell any story's of the impressive jar of gold you have, and yes you need 1 gram for the 18oz though I know your not going to stop there Ralph, I wish you luck with your searching the Internet.
And to all don't forget to swing low and slow and be safe

Thanks Harry. I've just about said goodbye to the internet searching.....found a couple of sellers (one in Northern California, and the other in Alaska) that I'm comfortable with, and pretty much limit my purchases to them (when I can afford to). The 10+ gram nugget is still the biggest in my jar, but I've got several in the three, four, and five gram size. Just pluggin' along - a little here and a little there....

Good one Ralph and it's a shame that I sold most of the loose nuggets I had laying around,my family still has a few oz's hanging around there necks that's also including mine,so why I say it's a shame as I could have sent you a few grams before I sold it. There still a lot of gold being found here in Auss and I'll get back to detecting when my hip reconstruction fully heals,it took me 3 years to get back to it after the first hip replacement and may take me a little longer with the reconstruction .

Harry, when you get back into it, and you start finding those awesome nuggets, do keep me in mind. I don't have much from Australia, and I do like the purity of the gold from down there. I'm sure we can work something out. I'm interested in just nuggets - got three or four ounces of fines and dust, and I recall you saying you kind of took a hit when you sold your dust, so I'm trying to stay with the +6, and larger, nuggets. Hope your hip mends well, my friend.

Long time no talk Harry! I am about to get out locally to the East Fork of the San Gabriel Mountains (Azusa Canyon), in a couple weeks. I have found some nice color up there, including some small nuggets. My first nugget was found by me in Arizona (1997). I thought it was a piece of melted brass until I put it in my mouth to rinse it off and saw a speck of quartz on it! My wife and our friends, who also detect, are going to go on an outing as long as there are not any hidden fees and such. www.ArizonaOutback.com This is where I found my first nugget (or close to it). We'll see what they say when I call. - Dave

G'Day Dave good to hear from you and yes there's been a lot of water under the bridge since you were last here, if the Outback tours there are anything like they are here it may cost you a tag-along fee, most if not all tours here have a tag-along and I've seen them charge from half the fee to almost two thirds so I wish you luck.
thanks again Dave for dropping in and letting me know what happening at your end of the world.
all the best mate Harry

Harry - I still have your address as well my friend, and I'm still on this same little hill (no pun intended) - have been for several years - reckon I'm planted in this spot. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
