Hi,

I have a 2001D dime that weighs >2.1g. I have weighed it multiple times and it's either 2.0 or 2.1g. What could this error be?

About 16% under weight.
I would say it's struck on a rolled thin dime stock.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

Nice find! Often times the weight reduction isn't too significant, but yours seems to have a decent weight loss.

Partial collar?
2001-D-Dime-Error-2.1grams
On a partial collar on a reed edge coin, the area without the reeds would be wider on that area and where the reed area is it would been normal size of a dime there. (Out of the collar allows the metal to flow over the top/bottom of the collar)

VERY slightly underweight planchet, not enough to be worth a premium. Does NOT look like a partial collar strike, looks like the common weak strike edge showing bevels from the reeds to the rim. I would NOT consider this to be an error coin.
