coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 04/06/2020 2:55 pm They were hand punched into the dies until 1990 when it is part of the design. So they can vary in locations. That is a good thing as they locations of the mintmarks could be used for ID-ing the doubled dies and RPMs easier. So after 1990, there are no more RPMs. If the mintmark is doubled after that year, then it is part of a doubled die. IE 1995-D DDO-003: Note the lower serif on the mintmark. It is part of the DDO. (Not a RPM after 1990) Report this Post to the Staff
