Hey guys - I'm not sure what this is, other than it's a Roman Republic Denari. If someone could help me with the city or something I can search on ACsearch that would be awesome, thanks!   |

The reverse "C" might be a bankers mark, but it doesn't look like any that I've seen.

It looks to me like a sun with rays that was struck at a slight angle to the surface of the coin so that there is only a partial impression. In any case, it is a great coin! @Spence - Ah, that's a good interpretation. I can see the little serrated edges on the end of the "c" or "o". Is that still a banker's mark?

Or maybe even a laurel wreath mark ?
It's someone's test mark
Banker is a very loose term for some guy receiving a large amount of money and not being interested in getting cheated
42 BC was an interesting (and dangerous !) time
