This coin looks like a mess, but it is one of my favorites. It is an unofficial FEL TEMP overstruck on an official posthumous issue of Constantine I and was struck, the second time, circa A.D. 350. The first picture is rotated to show the under type; which is seen in the second picture. The third picture is rotated to show the unofficial FEL TEMP right side up and the last picture is an official FEL TEMP from Antioch. 15mm 1.4g

Ex-Collection of Ralph Van Deman Magoffin, American Classical scholar and archaeologist, 1874-1942.

I asked about provenance because these FEL TEMP overstrikes are considered to be primarily a British phenomenon. Not exclusively British, however. According to Bastien, overstrikes from the continent and the east are "rare". The faux Antioch mint mark is intriguing. Thanks for posting!

That is an interesting piece, especially with the official issue over-struck with an imitative.
