So I got a bunch of random coinage from an estate sale alot of silver coinage by itself and I got the peanuts 50th anniversary canadian proof coin and it has silver reeds. Wondering if anyone has a cupro-nickel one and can tell me if it has the copper strip in its reeds.

DBM beat me to it! I'm not aware of a silver $1 coin from Canada to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Peanuts. The RCM did sell gold and silver coins for Niue Island back in 2010 for the 60th anniversary. Pictures would definitely help!

Should exist. Could be 5oz?
I remember, one of the members had the avatar with this coin.

Quote: Should exist. Could be 5oz? Yes, the five-ounce silver coin is the 2010 Niue coin I referred to above.

Found something. Here is a 50th anniversary $1 coin. Not Canadian.

Since the OP is from the US, perhaps he mistake the coin for a Canadian one because it has the Queen on the obverse? So he posted on the wrong forum.

I think the silver proof coins were also struck for the 60th anniversary, by the Royal Canadian Mint.

I'm talking about the 50th anniversary nuie. Dbm nailed it but they made two versions a cupro nickel version and a 925 silver version that look the same. I was wondering if the silver version had silver reeds or if they both did?

I would assume both have silvery reeds. Cupro-nickel is an alloy, silvery in colour, the edges would be the same as the faces. Only clad coins, like the US copper-nickel ones, have reeded edges of different colours.
