HI everyone I am new to this community and just recently started collecting, see my other post in which I introduce myself. I have these two gold coins and would like some of your thoughts on them. Any and all information would be grateful,

Thank you Seeker55! I would never consider selling these they been in the family a long time. I'm wondering why the shade in gold is so different between the two.

The Italy coin has a proof-like appearance, which apparently is common on high grade examples of this coin. SO the highly reflective "fields" give it a different look.

Forgive me and I'm sure this question might sound stupid but as I said I'm very new to this. What exactly is proof appearance? I searched on line and it basically says first coins made of the batch to ensure quality of the die. But the date on this coin is 1882. Would a proof of this be rare? How can I know for sure?

The Elizabeth II coin looks like a Canada 25 cents.

First, I don't know if there were also restrikes of the Italy coin, as mentioned by @seeker for the Mexico coin. Maybe there is another forum member here who can comment on that.
As for the value of "original" examples of this coin, you can do an e-Bay Sold Items search on this coin, (I used "Italy 20 Lire 1882 MS") and you will find the selling price for certified examples. It looks like the range is from just bullion value to about $200 above that.

Ok I'll assume they restrikes. Been in family only about 35-40 years. They look very nice to me. Have to sort through the silver pieces now. Ty all. I'll do some more homework online
