Quote: I asked her and she said "So I'll buy walk2water a note and you won't get any"
My reply was "Walk2water has to many notes so he doesn't need any more"
Sorry Now, you're sounding Canadian, eh?! She's got a big heart & you're right, I have too many notes! Nicely decorated Denley's envelope. Don't you want to keep stuff in those (like your receipts, stamps or something)?

Late in 2021 The Poison Dart of the Coin World (Coin Frog) and Walk to Water tried to "bully" me into staying in the currency world, but I wanted to complete the 7070 and the slabbed IHC so I stepped away from a few months. I really missed the majesty and artistry of notes and while US based notes did take a back seat , I really got into the notes of my home country, I was able to complete a type set of the Portuguese Fractionals. I purchased a few rare (well very rare notes) from the early years. I was even able to complete the last issue before the Euro. And while I probable whined a lot to a few of you in how long it took my notes to get here from Portugal, I really appreciated the ones that listened. In 2022 Hokie Fan started getting into fractionals and I can't let him buy all the nice ones so in 2023, I hope to continue with my collection, especially getting a few more autographed 3rd series issues and some minor upgrades to a few fractionals, and if some of you upgrade (like a Martha note) just remember that I'm interested

That's a great Fr#1253, hfjacinto, and I look forward to seeing your new additions coming in 2023! And I always enjoy seeing your notes from Portugal.

Not an actual note as $10 Educational Silver Certificates where never issued, but a Plate was created. In 1974 the BEP created an engraving for the ANA show in Florida and released a print of the $10 Educational Note. The note depicts Agriculture and Forestry. I believe it would have been a beautiful note. Some people have cut these up and had then encased, I am tempted.

Very interesting, hfjacinto! As that seems to in a very nice state of preservation, I'd be tempted to leave as-is or maybe frame it, especially if the reverse of the engraving is blank. Of course, I'm partial to leaving things "as they are"; it took me about 3 decades to finally bring myself to finally free a 1964 Kennedy half from a heavily-handled "Kennedy-Lincoln" trivia card.

Today's note is a doozy. I was about $160 short to get this note, so I was just going to wait, but alas a check came in for $164, it was like this note was destined to come to me. Early in 2019, our dishwasher was recalled, but I had replaced it already in 2014. The old dishwasher would sometimes catch on fire, but it never did for us, but it just didn't work right so we replaced it with a kitchenaid. As part of the recall there was also a class action lawsuit which would pay a % of the cost of a new dishwasher. I kept the receipt and submitted and never really thought about it again, well 3 years later, I get a check for $164 which is $4 more than I was short. The paper money gods were wanting me to get this note. Its a beautiful 58 EPQ with no visible folds but some minor soft edges. The color is vibrant and its from NJ. Paper is super clean and for a 247 year old note it looks great. At 53, I look worse than the note. Just do not counterfeit this note.. otherwise its death.

Love the colonial note... Awesome design for almost 250 years old, Using Plant Leaves of their day on the bills.... Your bill is signed by John Hart, Cool History "The most notable signature among the hundreds scrawled on this collection is probably that of John Hart. John Hart, (ca 1713-1779), was a farmer, judge, and public servant in New Jersey who, after being elected vice president of the New Jersey Provincial Congress, also became a member of the Second Continental Congress just in time to make history. Hart's name can be found on both the fifteen shillings bill from New Jersey, March 25, 1776 and the Declaration of Independence! " Sweet Find !!!
