Hey guys I just can't seem to understand what happened to this 2016 quarters of this corrosion how could this happen or an errror coin I just dint know , if it's environmental or not , please help me lol it's so new to look like this like how ?

My initial reaction is exposure to a harsh acidic environment. We do need to see a close-up high resolution photo of the coin's edge. A closer high res photo of the reverse and obverse would help too.
