I have been searching online extensively but cannot seem to identify these two tetradrachm coins. Any help is greatly appreciated. Also as a novice collector of Ancient Roman coins, what is a good reference book to own?

Thank You!

The first purports to be a tetradrachm struck in Odessos, Thrace in the name of Alexander the Great in the early first century BC, long after he died. The obverse "Herakles" is based on the likeness of Mithradates VI of Pontos. I hesitate to entirely condemn the coin without close-up pics, but I do see why Loruca has doubts.

I'm on the fence with the first coin leaning more to it being genuine, I don't believe it's a cast copy. The reverse looks a little odd, but the obverse seems to be right on.

I believe the second coin is Ptolemy II.

Hi Jennifer...Looking at your other thread did you buy all these coins from the same seller?.....It would be beneficial if you could post photos of the edges as you did in your previous thread....Weight and diameter would also really help.
Thanks
